About the church

This small and unique Church is set in peaceful grounds and gardens amid tranquil surroundings, within the La Siesta Urbanisation of Torrevieja. Three different denominations including our own Anglican congregation worship in the church and the building is managed by a committee made up of the three denominations who together care for the building and its facilities.

About the people

The dedicated and vibrant Anglican congregation is drawn not from just the La Siesta community and the surrounding Torrevieja area but from many of the local communities and adjacent municipalities. We are well known for our warm welcome shown to visitors.

What we do

With its central location in the Chaplaincy, we host many Chaplaincy-wide acts of worship throughout the church year especially Lent and Eastertide, Advent and Christmas. Our congregation regularly enjoys a meal after the service at one of the local restaurants where we are able to continue the fellowship enjoyed during the service. Apart from these acts of worship and fellowship we host regular Chaplaincy social events, most notably a Summer BBQ.

With three denominations sharing the church building we host a number of Ecumenical events with our sister churches such as the annual Ecumenical Carol Service held at the beginning of December.

As part of the Chaplaincy’s “out-reach” programme the La Siesta congregation regularly donates food items to local Torrevieja Charitable organisations; together with coordinating the annual ‘Shoe Box Appeal’

With a number of ex-service people worshipping in the church, the local Torrevieja RBL and RAFA ex-Service Associations use the Church for their annual and other Services of Remembrance, Thanksgiving and Commemoration. A small “Garden of Remembrance” is located in the Church gardens.

Our services

At the moment La Siesta is the only “working” church in the Chaplaincy and, because of the Pandemic, our celebrations of the Holy Eucharist are:

1^st and 3^rd Sundays at 1130 and Saturdays before 2^nd, 4^th and 5^th Sundays at 1700.

Where we are

The Church can be found by taking the Torrevieja to Crevillente road (CV905). At the La Siesta roundabout turn right, left at the T junction and immediately right, the church is half a kilometre further on the left (opposite the local water park). Local street signage can assist in locating the Church.
