Welcome to the Anglican Chaplaincy of St Peter & St Paul, Torrevieja on the South Costa Blanca, Spain.
This Chaplaincy is part of the Diocese in Europe which celebrated it's 25th Anniversary in
2005, and Spain belongs to the Archdeaconry of Gibraltar.
As you will read on our history page, we only officially gained status as a Chaplaincy in 2000
although there had been a Church presence in the area for many years before that.
The Chaplaincy now extends from just south of Alicante airport right down the coast to La Manga
near Cartegena.
Torrevieja is a thriving, cosmopolitan area with a huge amount of development going on,
which means that we not only have retired people living here but more and more younger families are settling in the area.
The Chaplain, Revd. Colin McCormack, is assisted by three retired ministers who have
’permission to officiate‘ in Spain.
There are also two trainee Readers and two trainee Lay Assistants who lead Morning or Evening
Prayer services.
All Chaplaincies within the Diocese in Europe are self funding and our income is made up of 'giving' on the collection plate, fees from funerals, wedding blessings etc. and the remainder from social and fundraising events.
Although we are an Anglican Chaplaincy we offer a warm welcome to people of all
denominations to any of our services
