Many charities, churches and other organisations rely on fundraising activities and events to fund the work they do and our Chaplaincy is no different. We have to raise at least a third of the money needed to run the Chaplaincy from these activities. The good thing is that this is the fun part of funding!
In order to help each of our churches play their part we have set up a Chaplaincy Fundraising Group. Each church has a Fundraising Co-ordinator who is responsible for making sure their own church comes up with new and innovative ways to raise money and then carries them out. Twice a year all the individual church representatives meet together to brainstorm ideas, report on what they’ve been doing and plan for the next six months.
Because our churches are in very different areas, serving very different communities it is important that each church draws on members of their own communities to support their activities. For this reason our churches undertake a wide variety of fundraising, including:
Coffee mornings/ afternoon teas
Raffles
Fayres and other sales
Bingo and quiz nights
Special meals
Sponsored walks
Open Garden Days
Music nights
Auctions
And much much more.
If you have had experience of raising funds and would like to help us in our fundraising there are many ways in which you can do so (you don’t need to regularly attend our churches!):
Contribute fundraising ideas
Help put ideas into practice, whether it be running an event or just helping out
Attend fundraising events
Contribute goods for sale, raffle prizes or to support an event
Publicise an event
Host an event
And much much more
If you would like to know more or discuss any fundraising ideas you have, please send a message on our “Contact Us” page.
