About the church:
The church was originally built and owned by a wealthy family for their personal use when staying at their mansion nearby. In 1968 the property was sold to a builder who gave it to the community on the condition it was always to remain a church. Once owned by the community the church went from strength to strength; it was thoroughly cleaned, repaired and decorated and the Finnish owners on the urbanisation made the pews. Since then the improvements and furniture have come from church money raised locally, mainly donated. A lot of love, hard work and dedication has gone into the church and the atmosphere inside is lovely, warm and serene. Many of those worshipping in our church have commented on its serenity and warmth.
About the people:
Our congregation numbers vary each week. We have a mix of people who live locally and who attend regularly and those who have holiday homes and come to church when they visit. All denominations are welcome and we have all nationalities, including Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, South African, etc. Everyone is greeted very warmly and we have a social gathering with refreshments after the service to which everyone is welcome.
What we do:
Apart from our Holy Euchrist service every Saturday, our activities include Fayres, raffles and other fundraising for the chaplaincy.
Our services:
Our services of Holy Eucharist take place each Saturday at 6 pm and also Thursday at 11:00 am (with special MU Service on first Thursday). Wedding Blessings After a Civil Ceremony and Renewal of Marriage Vows are very popular as our church stands in beautifully kept gardens. Baptisms, funerals and memorial services are also provided. Special services of Easter light, Immaculate Conception (our Lady), All Saints Day and All Souls Day, Remembrance service, Meditation and Prayer with Jesus and Epiphany are often celebrated at our church for the whole Chaplaincy.
Where we are:
The Church is situated just off the CV95. Leaving Torrevieja, towards San Miguel de Salinas, take the service road off to the right at the third roundabout onto Urbanisation Lago Jardin 1, where you will find the Church.
